Titan Sports Hall of Fame
Rick Mazzei was a four-year starter for the Westminster baseball team from 1980-83, including the 1982 squad that still holds the school record for wins in a season with a 27-8 mark. Primarily a centerfielder, Mazzei batted .367 for his career and his 112 career runs scored was a school record for 25 years before his mark was surpassed the last season.
Mazzei was named all-District 18 as a first team selection in 1980 and an honorable mention for three succeeding years for head coach Scott Renninger. Voted the MVP of the 1983 team, he also led the Titans with five home runs as a senior, including one to each part of the field.
A member of the Dean's List in 1982, Mazzei graduated from Westminster in 1983 with a degree in English. A native of New Castle, Pa., and a Neshannock High School graduate, Mazzei now resides in Downingtown, Pa., where he is a regional sales coach for ATLEY Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He and his wife Chelly of 23 years have a son Cameron and a daughter Natali.
