Titan Sports Hall of Fame
The Westminster College football team's most recent first team All-American is Nick Roberts, who earned NAIA First Team All-America honors in 1997 as a defensive back.
A 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety, Roberts played for the Titans for two years in 1997 and '98 and served as a student assistant coach in 1999. Roberts led the team in solo tackles (77) and interceptions (8) during the 1997 campaign. He also led the Titans with 89 solo tackles and three forced fumbles in 1998 while earning first-team all-conference and second-team all-region accolades. He finished his two-year career with the Titans with 13 interceptions and 166 solo tackles.
Roberts helped lead Westminster to a 9-2 season and a playoff appearance in 1997, under head coach Gene Nicholson.
A native of Boardman, Ohio, and a Boardman High School graduate, Roberts graduated from Westminster in 2000 with a degree in biology and secondary education. He currently resides in Canfield, Ohio, and he is an eighth grade science teacher at Howland Middle School. He and his wife Robin, a 2002 Westminster graduate, have a son, Bryce.
