Ron Minnie was an outstanding two-sport athlete during his career at Westminster.

8981Minnie set school and district records for the Titan track and field team and was a key player on the 1959 and 1960 NAIA national tournament basketball teams that compiled a 43-11 overall record. The 1960 team finished as national runners-up after upsetting defending champion Tennessee A&I.

An outstanding hurdler on Coach Harold Burry's track & field teams, Minnie helped lead the Titans to a 22-4 record in dual meets and conference and district titles during his career. On the basketball court, he had a reputation as one of legendary Coach Buzz Ridl's toughest defensive players of all-time.

A 1960 Westminster graduate with a degree in business administration, Minnie resides with his wife Janet in Pittsburgh, and is a retention counselor in the WTW program. A native of Monessen, Minnie has six children and 14 grandchildren.
