Titan Sports Hall of Fame
Shannon Simmons Liposky was the team captain and most valuable player on the 2001 Westminster College volleyball team, the most recent Titan team to win 27 matches in a season. A three-year starter at right side, Liposky played at Westminster from 1998-2001 for head coach Tammy Swearingen.
Liposky led the Titans in kills (278) and digs (353) during her junior year before ranking second in kills (380) and first in digs (527) as a senior. She currently ranks eighth in team history with 262 career blocks and ninth with 1,248 career digs.
During her senior year in 2001, Liposky led the Titans to a 27-8 record and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Tournament Championship. She was named the tournament MVP after the Titans entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed.
Liposky earned PAC Coaches' Honors (all-conference equivalent) in 2000 and 2001 and she was also named to the Verizon Academic All-District Second Team in 2001.
A native of East Palestine, Ohio, and a graduate of Crestview Local High School, Liposky earned her degree from Westminster in elementary education in 2002. She also received a master's degree from Westminster in 2005. Her and her husband Rob reside in East Palestine with their daughter Claire. Liposky is currently a fifth-year assistant volleyball coach at Westminster.
