A four-year letterman for the Westminster baseball team, Giles was an All-District 18 First Team honoree in 1982 and 1983. 

Giles was the Gene Waldron Award recipient in 1983, an award presented to the top junior NAIA scholar-athlete. For his career, Giles pitched 27 games and tallied a 12-7 record along with 86 strikeouts and a 4.19 earned run average.

Giles was just as impressive off the field as he was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American ('83, '84).

A West Middlesex H.S. graduate, Giles was a biology major at Westminster. He currently resides in Palm City, FL, where he is a plastic surgeon. He has two children: a daughter, Emma, and a son, Garrett.
