Titan Sports Hall of Fame
Janie Cebula is one of only six Titan volleyball players to register 1,000 or more kills in her career, and she did it in just three years as a starter. After playing her initial collegiate season at Youngstown State, Cebula transferred to Westminster and helped Coach Tammy Swearingen's Titan teams post a stellar 92-27 record during the next three years that included the KECC championship in 1994.
The team captain and team MVP of the 1995 Titan squad was named KECC Player of the Year in 1995, along with an honorable mention for the NAIA All-America team.
Cebula was also named to the first team for the NAIA all-Northeast Region team and the Keystone Empire Collegiate Conference in 1994 and 1995.
She is currently ranked sixth and ninth, respectively, among the school's all-time career leaders in kills (1,001) and digs (1,239). At the end of her career she was ranked second in each category.
Cebula graduated from Westminster in 1997 with a degree in sociology. A native of New Wilmington, Cebula currently resides in Leetsdale where she is an elementary school guidance counselor. She plans to enroll in classes at Duquesne University to obtain her Ph.D.
