A four-year letter winner, Sterling was a two-time All-PAC First Team selection and
was also the PAC Player of the Year as a senior. Sterling was named on the D3Hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region First Team following her senior season.
Additionally, Sterling was named twice on the All-PAC Second Team. As a freshman, she was named the PAC Freshman of the Year.
She was key member of the 2004-05 team that won the PAC Championship and received Westminster's first-ever berth in NCAA basketball tournament. As a senior and team MVP, Sterling helped lead the 2006-07 team to a share of the PAC regular season championship and another berth in the NCAA national tournament.
Sterling set the school record for career scoring with 1,451 points (currently stands second). She's third all-time in career scoring average (13.4) and in single season scoring (433 pts.). Sterling is also tied for sixth in single game scoring (32 pts.). Additionally, Sterling ranks first all-time in career individual three-point shooting (35.5%), in game individual three-point shooting (100%), and tied for first in single game three-point shots made (6). She also ranks third all-time in career three-point shots made (137) and fourth all-time in single season three-point shots made (55).
Sterling was a native of Newton Falls, OH, and graduated from Newton Falls HS. At Westminster, she was a double major in psychology and sociology. She was also a member of the Black Student Union at Westminster.
Sterling currently is the founder and director of Becoming Families. She and her wife, Sara (Palmosina) ‘03, reside in Hampton, VA with their soon-to-be adopted son, Matthias.
