Titan Sports Hall of Fame
Westminster's most recent national champion is David Gesacion, who as a sophomore won the 1998 NAIA National Championship in the 200-yard butterfly. Gesacion became the school's fourth national champion by posting a time of 1:54.89, edging two-time defending national champion Brad Algiere of Findlay by .02.
Gesacion was named team MVP in each of his four seasons and is a 23-time All-American (15 in NAIA and 8 in NCAA Division II).
The 1999 GLIAC Swimmer of the Year, Gesacion earned eight conference titles during his career including three in 1999 while leading the Titans to the team title.
Gesacion broke seven school records during his four years as a Titan swimmer under head coach Rob Klamut. Three of his standards - the 100 and 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle - still stand as school records.
An education major who graduated in 2000, Gesacion also succeeded in the classroom as he is one of 24 athletes in Westminster history to earn Academic All-America honors.
A native of Boardman, Ohio, and a Boardman High graduate, Gesacion currently resides in Austin, Texas, where he is an ASCA Level 4 USA Swimming National Development Swim Coach.
Gesacion is married to Jeanine, his wife of seven years. They have a son Cameron, 4, and triplets, Brady, Carson and Kennadi, born in December 2006.
