Box Score NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team shutout the visiting La Roche College Redhawks, 2-0, in a physical match Thursday night under the lights of Harold Burry Stadium.

Senior Marcus Gurgiolo (Edinburg, PA / Mohawk) scored the first Titan goal, his team-leading third of the season, after he broke through the Redhawks' line of defense at the 5:25 mark of the first half. Classmate Ethan McCarthy (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) led Gurgiolo with the pass.

Westminster added insurance at the 71:02 mark of the second half after senior Stephen McDaniel (Jamestown, NC / Southwest Guilford) placed a cross in the box and found classmate Richard Beaudoin (Adamstown, MD / Tuscarora) who headed the ball to the back of net.

Titan senior goalie Tyler Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) earned the win in a complete-match effort, while gathering in five saves.

La Roche drops to 1-2 overall, while Westminster improves to 2-0-1.

A total of five yellow cards were issued and a total of 22 fouls were called.

The Titans will play two road matches this weekend. Westminster will travel to Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y. on Saturday for a 5 p.m. match and to Penn College in Williamsport, Pa. on Sunday for a 12 p.m. match.
