Westminster clipped at home

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to John Carroll Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

John Carroll improved to a 3-1 this season. The Blue Streaks are in their first season as a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Westminster fell to 0-3-1. 

Scoreless at the half, John Carroll's Andrew Massucci controlled a loose ball inside the goalkeeper's box in the 74th minute and scored with his right foot. 

Junior Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) made a career-high 11 saves in the setback. He stopped seven shots in the first half. 

John Carroll outshot Westminster 16-0, including an 11-0 margin in the first half, and finished with a 12-0 advantage in shots on goal. John Carroll was awarded 10 corner kicks while Westminster took just two.

Westminster will travel to take on La Roche Wednesday. Kickoff at the Baierl Athletic Complex is set for 4 p.m.
