Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer suffers 2-0 loss at LaRoche

PITTSBURGH--The Westminster College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at LaRoche Wednesday afternoon at the Baierl Athletic Complex. 

LaRoche, winners of three straight, improved to 3-1. Westminster has dropped three straight, falling to 0-4-1.

The Redhawks struck for a pair of goals in the opening half. LaRoche broke through in the ninth minute on Abdul Basit Suleman's first goal of the year. Phillip Hawkins scored off a Jack Sadler assist in the 22nd minute. It was Hawkins' first of the season.

Each team had three shots in the scoreless second half. 

Junior Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) finished with five saves. Maddox Anderson made one save in the shutout, his second this year. 

LaRoche finished with 10 shots, including seven on goal, while Westminster managed to get off seven shots with two on net. 

Up Next:
Westminster will return to action next Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Mount Aloysius. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. in Cresson, Pa.
