Men’s Soccer: Titans Fall to Penn State Altoona, 3-2, Despite First Half Lead

Box Score NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team was unable to hold onto a 2-1 halftime lead as it lost, 3-2, to the visiting Penn State Altoona Lions Monday night.

Senior Matthew Kiernan (Venetia, PA / Upper St. Clair) put the Titans (7-5-3) in front early in with a goal in the 2nd minute of the game. This was Kiernan's sixth goal of the season.

Luke Nelson of Penn State Altoona (11-3-1) tied the game, 1-1, with a goal at the 31:15 mark.

Titan senior Cody Postupac (Export, PA / Penn Trafford) put the Titans back in the lead with a goal from a penalty kick in the 42nd minute; his second goal of the year.

The Lions scored both second half goals within four minutes of each other. Coltin Ebersole netted the equalizer in the 55th minute. At the 58:25 mark, Alhaji Umaru Koroma scored the game winner.

Titan senior Tyler Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) went 90:00 minutes, while earning four saves.

For the game, the Lions out-shot the Titans 13-9.

Westminster will next host Bethany College on Saturday at 1 p.m. for its Senior Day.
