NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team defeated Waynesburg, 4-2, Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.
The Titans (10-6-2, 4-2 PAC) scored on three consecutive goals by junior forward Andrew Saporito (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) after sophomore Justin Rivas (Keller, Texas/Carroll) scored the game's opening goal. Rivas also assisted on Saporito's goal in the 73rd minute.
Saporito has a team-high 11 goals, while Rivas' goal was the first of his career.
The Yellow Jackets (7-12, 2-4 PAC) were outscored by the Titans 2-1 in each half. David Peters scored Waynesburg's lone goal in the first half and Dave Thorn netted the one goal in the second half.
Titan senior goalkeeper Anthony Beilstein (Butler, Pa./Knoch) made nine saves.ÂÂ
Second-seeded Westminster hosts third-seeded Grove City Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the first round of the PAC tournament beginning at 2 p.m.
