Treharne wins pole vault at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio--Senior Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School) won the pole vault Friday at Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Twilight. 

A limited number of Westminster's women's outdoor track and field team competed at the two-day event. 

Treharne cleared 3.83 meters (12-06.75) on her third attempt at the height to win the 17-competitor event. Sophomore Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) was fifth, clearing 3.53 meters (11-07). Senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.85). 

Thursday, freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) was fifth in the discus with a top mark of 39.56 meters (129-09). The javelin and discus throws were held at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. 

Up next:
Westminster is scheduled to split its squad next week, participating in Mount Union's Last Chance Wednesday as well as the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships Wednesday-Thursday at Ursinus.
