Rambo scores pair of top-3 finishes at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio--Senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) registered a pair of third-place finishes Thursday at the Mount Union Last Chance.

Rambo finished third in both the discus and shot put, posting a top mark of 41.86 meters (137-04) in the discus and a best mark of 12.90 meters (42-04) in the shot put.

Senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) was third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.23. She finished fifth in the final of the 100-meter hurdles, recording a personal-best time of 15.79 seconds. Sophomore Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) finished third in the pole vault, clearing 3.83 meters (12-06.75).

Freshman Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa., Butler) was seventh in the discus (3.53m, 11-07) while freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) was eighth in the discus (40.36m, 132-05).

Up next:
The final descending-order list for next week's Division III Championships is scheduled to be released Friday night, with the top 22 declared student-athletes in each event being accepted into the competition. Wisconsin-La Crosse will serve as host for the three-day championship.
