Treharne, Rock compete at NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis.--Recent Westminster graduate Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School) and rising sophomore Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa., Butler) participated in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday afternoon.

The championships are being held at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wis. Treharne and Rock were among the 22 qualifiers in the women's pole vault. Both qualified for the Division III Indoor Championships in March. 

Treharne finished ninth after clearing 3.85 meters (12-07.25). She cleared a personal-best height of 4.01 meters (13-01.75) at the Westminster Invitational on April 11. 

Rock was 19th, clearing 3.60 meters (11-09.75). She cleared a season-best 3.86 meters (12-08) at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on March 27. Rock earned All-America honors at the Division III Indoor Championships, finishing tied with MIT's Hailey Surace for eighth place. Both cleared 3.85 meters (12-07.50) on their first attempts, respectively, and finished with five total misses.

Rising junior Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) will compete in the men's high jump at 12 p.m. (EDT) on Friday.
