Zendron wins 400 at Westminster Invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Sophomore Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) headlined the Westminster College's women's outdoor track and field program's performances at its annual invitational event Saturday.

Zendron won the 400 meters with a time of 59.21 seconds. She also finished in eighth place in the 200 meters with a season-best time of 26.76.

Graduate student Breannda Davis (Streetsboro, Ohio, Streetsboro) was the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.35. She also finished third in the long jump with a season-best mark of 5.16 meters (16-11.25). Junior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) was the runner-up in the discus with a top mark of 40.71 meters (133-7.00). Graduate student Madison Conley (New Castle, Pa., New Castle) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.75 meters (12-3.75) while senior Lexi Shiderly (New Castle, Pa., Mohawk) finished sixth in the shot put with a best mark of 12.14 meters (39-10.00).

Westminster's 4x100-meter "A" relay finished as the runner-up with a time of 51.36. Members of the relay included Davis, junior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell), freshman Alaina Gatto (Warren, Pa., Warren) and Zendron. The 4x400-meter "A" relay finished third with a season-best time of 4:12.60. Davis, Essey, sophomore Lily Atwood (Kittanning, Pa., Armstrong) and Zendron made up the relay.

Up Next:
Westminster will compete in Slippery Rock University's John Papa Invitational on Thursday. Events are scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m.
