Five earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Five members of Westminster College's women's cross country and track and field programs were recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors Tuesday afternoon. Recent graduates Madison Conley (New Castle, Pa., New Castle), Kaya Skinner (Oil City, Pa., Oil City) and Lexi Shiderly (New Castle, Pa., Mohawk), along with rising seniors Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) and Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School), were all recognized. 

Conley and Shiderly earned Academic All-District® for the third-straight year while Rambo and Treharne earned Academic All-District® for the second-straight year.

The Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes cross country/track and field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Conley earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) on May 10 and maintained 4.00 cumulative grade point-average (GPA). She is a five-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll three times. Conley won the pole vault at both the PAC Indoor (3.83m, 12-06.75) and Outdoor (3.67m, 12-00.50) Championships this year. She earned All-America honors at the Division III Outdoor Championships in May after clearing 3.85 meters (12-07.50).

Shiderly graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in early childhood and special education and a 3.83 cumulative GPA. A six-time Dean's List honoree, Shiderly was named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll four times. Shiderly won the shot put at the PAC Indoor Championships with a top throw of 12.76 meters (41-10.50) before winning her second-straight title in the shot put at the PAC Outdoor Championships with a season-best throw of 12.82 meters (42-00.75).

Skinner graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in accounting while carrying a 3.85 cumulative GPA. She is a seven-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll three times. Skinner was 11th in the triple jump with a best mark of 9.75 meters (32-00.00) and 20th in the long jump with a best mark of 4.31 meters (14-01.75) at the PAC Indoor Championships. At the PAC Outdoor Championships, she was eighth in the triple jump with a best mark of 10.41 meters ((34-02.00). 

An environmental science major, Rambo owns a 3.74 cumulative GPA. She is a five-time Dean's List honoree and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll five times. At the PAC Indoor Championships, Rambo finished third in the shot put with a best throw of 12.37 meters (40-07.00). At the PAC Outdoor Championships, she won the discus for the second-straight year with a top throw of 41.21 meters (135-02). Additionally, she finished third in the shot put with a top throw of 12.19 meters (40-00) and seventh in the javelin with a personal-best mark of 34.11 meters (111-11). 

Treharne, a creative media production and English double major, carries a 3.96 cumulative GPA. She has been named to the College's Dean's List five times and is a two-time PAC Academic Honor Roll selection. She finished as the runner-up in the pole vault at the PAC Indoor Championships after clearing 3.25 meters (10.08.00) and finished fourth iat the PAC Outdoor Championships after clearing 3.32 meters (10-10.75). 

Westminster was the runner-up at the PAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 27, finishing with three individual champions and totaling 120 points at the 16-event championship. On May 2 at the PAC Outdoor Championships, Westminster posted a third-place finish, racking up 131 points during the two-day, 19-event championship while finishing with three individual champions. 

Academic standing:
  • Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
  • Student-athletes must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
  • Student-athletes who have graduated from their own institution during the current academic year and are not competing in athletics at another institution at the time of nomination are eligible.
  • An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale).
  • A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a graduate student, unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
  • The cumulative grade-point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic eligibility: Sport-specific nomination criteria

CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK & FIELD--Eligible nominees will be based off TFRRS regional performance rankings at the time of nomination. Note: Only individual ranked performances are to be used for eligibility. If a student-athlete has participated in a RELAY EVENT, that can bolster the nomination but the basic criteria to be met is for INDIVIDUAL performances. Relays cannot be the basis for eligibility.
  • NCAA institutions: 
    • Cross Country: Top-50 individual performance at the 2024 NCAA regional competition 
    • Track and Field: Top-50 regional ranking in single event (indoor or outdoor)
