Titans compete at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--The Westminster College men's outdoor track and field team opened the 2023 season at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, hosted by Coastal Carolina University, this weekend.

The three-day event was held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

The Titans finished 22nd in the 30-team invitational, totaling 13 team points.

Senior Jacob Patton (Harrisville, Pa. | Moniteau) and junior Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa. | Karns City) posted top-eight finishes in the 400 hurdles. Patton registered a third-place finish with a time of 54.96 seconds while Kamenski was fifth with a time of 56.30. Patton ran a 15.19 in the preliminaries of the 110 hurdles. Kamenski finished with a time of 16.28 in the qualifying round of the 110 hurdles.

Senior Ryan Beard (Murrysville, Pa. | Franklin Regional) finished in eighth place in the 200 meters with a time of 22.35. He also posted a time of 10.83 in the preliminaries of the 100 meters.

Senior Hunter Linhart (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Plum) placed 17th in the javelin (45.94m, 150-09) and 35th in the discus (36.20m, 118-9).

Senior Deondre McKeever (Youngstown, Ohio | Austintown Fitch) was 21st in the long jump, posting a top effort of 6.45 meters (21-02).

Freshman Jalen Ritzert (Greenville, Pa. | Greenville) finished 26th in the 800 (2:10.82) and was 28th in the 400 hurdles (1:03.11).

Westminster will be back in action on Friday-Saturday, March 24-25 at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational.
