Three qualify for Division III Outdoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS--Recent Westminster graduate Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School), along with rising sophomore Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa., Butler) and rising junior Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory), earned invitations to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23 at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wis. The Division III Track and Field Committee announced the participants Friday night. 

Treharne and Rock were among the 22 qualifiers in the women's pole vault while Dye was one of the 22 qualifiers in the men's high jump. All three qualified for the Division III Indoor Championships in March. 

Treharne cleared a personal-best height of 4.01 meters (13-01.75) at the Westminster Invitational on April 11. She will enter the outdoor championships tied for the No. 6 mark in Division III this season. 

Rock earned All-America honors at the Division III Indoor Championships, finishing tied with MIT's Hailey Surace for eighth place. Both cleared 3.85 meters (12-07.50) on their first attempts, respectively, and finished with five total misses. She enters the outdoor championships tied for the 19th-best seed mark. Rock cleared a season-best 3.86 meters (12-08) at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on March 27. 

Dye cleared a season-best 2.06 meters (6-09) while tying his career best mark at Mount Union's Last Chance on May 13. He will enter the outdoor championships with the No. 17 seed mark. At the Division III Indoor Championships, he was one of five competitors to tie for 14th place after clearing 1.98 meters (6-06). 

Up next:
The women's pole vault is scheduled for 1 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday. The men's high jump will begin at 12 p.m. (EDT) on Friday.
