NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster swimming and diving teams competed against Mount Union in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

"The women really stepped up today and had a fantastic meet", said head coach
Pat Smith. "We knew Mount Union was a great team. To come away on senior day with a win is really a great way for this senior group way to go out."

"The men knew that Mount Union was going to be great competition," Smith added, "I'm so proud of how the guys competed today. Our seniors have really led the way, the last four months. Today was a perfect combination of great senior leadership and great underclassman support."

The Titan men (3-4) lost, 156-141, while the Titan women (4-3) won, 174-112.

For the women, Senior
Megan Routch won the 200 and 500 freestyle with a time of 2:03.96 and 5:29.55. First-year
Christina Loewe (Austin, TX / Veritas Academy) had a first-place finish in the 100 and 200 backstroke at 1:03.10 and 2:16.32. Sophomore
Olivia Herman (Hamburg, NY / Hamburg) registered victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:13.71 and 2:39.93. Senior
Anna Grimenstein won the 200 butterfly at 2:21.78. Junior
Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) tallied a victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.63. Senior
Gayner Rossi (Trenton, MI / Trenton) swept the diving events, winning in the one-meter and three-meter dives.

For the men, seniors
Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) and
Kevin MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton) teamed with first-year
Connor Fritz (Canfield, OH / Canfield) and sophomore
Paul Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Home Schooled) to win the 200 medley relay at 1:37.90. Fritz also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.54. Kallaur registered a win in the 100 breaststroke at 1:02.04. Musselman tallied another victory in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 22.17. Senior
Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill) swept the diving events with a 245.85 in the one-meter and a 280.43 in the three-meter.

Westminster is back in action Saturday, February 5 as it hosts the Rich Sentner Dive Invitational. Start time is set for 5 p.m.
