NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's swimming and diving team defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Saint Vincent College on Monday evening to remain undefeated on the season.
The Westminster men (2-0) defeated the Bearcats (0-2) by a team score of 190-102.
The Titans earned 13 victories (11 solo, two relays) out of the 16 total events. Westminster was led by junior
Trevor McCabe (Avon, NY / Avon Central) who had a team-high three individual victories in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.22), the 200 breaststroke (2:19.75) and the 200 IM (2:07.05). Also earning multiple individual wins were juniors
Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) and
Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill). Musselman won the 50 freestyle (22.49) and the 100 freestyle (49.37), while Holton grabbed wins in the 3 meter dive (307.05) and the 1 meter dive (278.28).
The Titans started the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of McCabe, Musselman, senior
Blaine Sorrick (Mantua, OH / Crestwood) and sophomore
Stephen Adametz (Glenshaw, PA / Shaler Area) won with a time of 1:40.05. Sorrick also claimed the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.73, while Adametz grabbed his first individual victory of the season in the 200 butterfly with a mark of 2:10.98.
Westminster also won the 200 freestyle relay to close out the meet, as Sorrick and Musselman paired with junior
Kevin MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton) and first-year
Jacob Medvitz (Coraopolis, PA / Montour) to form the winning quartet with a time of 1:30.35. Medvitz also won the 100 butterfly (56.89), while junior
Constantine Kallaur (Bethel Park, PA / Homeschooled) was the victor in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:20.36.
The Westminster men's swimming and diving team will be back in the pool on Tuesday, February 23 when it travels to Grove City College for a highly anticipated conference matchup against the Wolverines starting at 6 p.m.
