NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected senior men's swimmer
Matt Baurle (Jeannette, PA / Penn Trafford) as its Titan Athlete of the Week.
Baurle swam to six wins, including four Westminster Natatorium records, last week to help guide the Titans to a pair of dual meet wins. In Thursday's 180-109 win over PAC rival Grove City, he broke his own pool record in the 100 breaststroke (58.17) and broke a 10-year- old pool record in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.23). He also swam on the winning 200 medley relay that finished with a pool-record time of 1:35.32. In Saturday's 174-109 win over Mount Union, Baurle swam on the 400 medley relay that broke a 14-year-old pool record with a winning time of 3:29.29. He also won the 100 breaststroke (58.34) and the 200 breaststroke (2:09.73). Additionally, Baurle was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week and the TeamUnify / CollegeSwimming.com Men's PAC Swimmer of the Week.
Westminster will next compete at the 2015-16 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships, starting on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
