Katigbak wins 200 back against Mount Union

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Sophomore Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian) earned a victory in the 200 backstroke Saturday during Westminster's 215-43 dual meet loss to visiting Mount Union. 

Katigbak also finished third in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.44 seconds. 

The Titans opened with a runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay, finishing with a time of 1:46.54. Members of the relay included graduate student Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional), junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro), Katigbak and freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf). 

Bishop finished third in the 1650 (18:14.93) and 500 (5:14.45) and Galbraith was third in the 50 freestyle (23.43) and 100 freestyle (51.78). Webster was third in the 200 butterfly (2:28.79). 

Piraino, the lone competitor in the 6-dive, 1-meter diving event, posted a score of 220.90 points. 

Up Next:
Westminster will travel to Latrobe next Saturday to take on Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Saint Vincent. The meet inside the Frank and Elizabeth Resnick Pool is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
