Titans 7th after opening night of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio--The Westminster College men's swimming and diving program opened its run at the Wooster Invitational Thursday. 

The three-day event is being held inside the YMCA of Wooster's Chris Mathew Aquatics Center. Diving events on Friday and Saturday will be contested at Wooster's Timken Natatorium. 

Through five scored events, Mount Union leads the 10-team field with 512 points. Westminster is currently in seventh place (84). 

The Titans' 200 free 'A' relay opened Thursday's finals with an 11th-place finish, posting a time of 1 minute, 31.23 seconds. Relay members included junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro), freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf) and sophomores Ethan Schohn (Pittsburgh, Pa., Plum) and Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian).

Katigbak was 16th overall and eighth in the 'B' final of the 50 free (21.91) while Webster finished 17th overall and first in the 'C' final of the 200 IM (2:09.07).

Westminster's 400 medley 'A' relay was 11th (3:48.03). Members included Katigbak, Webster, Schohn and freshman Ethan Bishop (Meadow, Utah, Millard).

Up next:
Friday's preliminary events are scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m., with men's 3-meter diving scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. The finals will commence at 6 p.m.
