Katigbak secures 5th place in 200 back Saturday at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio--Sophomore Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian) finished fifth in the 200 back to conclude Westminster's run at the Wooster Invitational Saturday night. 

The three-day event was inside the YMCA of Wooster's Chris Mathew Aquatics Center. Friday and Saturday's diving events were held at Wooster's Timken Natatorium. 

Rose-Hulman won the 10-team event with 1,730 points. Westminster was seventh, finishing with 249 points. 

Katigbak posted a time of 1 minute, 57.40 seconds in the 200 back, now the top time in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this season. 

Graduate student Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) won the three competitor 1-meter diving event Saturday with 359.10 points. 

Freshman Ethan Bishop (Meadow, Utah, Millard) was 24th in the 1650 (19:28.45) while sophomore Ethan Schohn (Pittsburgh, Pa., Plum) finished 23rd overall and seventh in the 'C' final of the 100 free (50.17). Junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) was 21st overall and fifth in the 'C' final of the 200 breast (2:29.77). 

Westminster was 11th in the 400 free relay (3:22.27) to conclude the invitational. Members of the relay included Katigbak, Schohn, Bishop and freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf)

Up next:
Westminster will host its annual Rich Sentner Diving Invitational on Friday, Jan. 16. Events will begin at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 24 Westminster will welcome Mount Union. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
