FINAL RESULTSWINTER PARK, Fla. – The Westminster College men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed at Division II Rollins College on Saturday.
The Titan men's team won 153.5-103.5, while the Titan women's team lost 145-117. The Titan men's team stayed perfect in dual meets with a 7-0 record, while the Titan women's team dropped to 5-2. The Rollins men's team dropped to 1-5 overall, while the Rollins women's team improved to 2-5.
The Westminster men's team won 10 events, not including two events in which it used exhibition swimmers. The Westminster women's team won six events.
Senior
Matt Baurle (Jeannette, PA / Penn Trafford), sophomore
Brad Kolesar (West Mifflin, PA / West Mifflin), and sophomore
Mitch Stahara (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) each won two individual events and were part of the winning 400 medley relay team that won with a time of 3:34.20. Senior
Austin Karper (Carlisle, PA / Carlisle) completed the quartet. Karper additionally won the 100 backstroke (54.33).
Baurle won the 100 breaststroke (58.72) and the 200 breaststroke (2:11.13), Kolesar touched first in the 100 butterfly (53.61) and in the 200 butterfly (2:02.28), and Stahara won the 200 freestyle (1:45.26) and the 500 freestyle (4:51.63).
Also earning victories for the Titan men's team were freshman
Michael Spencer (Clearfield, PA / Clearfield) (50 freestyle/22.30) and classmate
David Peffer (Ellwood City, PA / Riverside) (200 backstroke / 1:58.54).
For the women's team, junior
Anne Tillie (Fallston, MD / Fallston) accounted for three victories as she won the 1,000 freestyle (10:57.20), the 500 freestyle (5:25.32), and the 200 freestyle (1:59.99). Sophomore
Megan Douds (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) won the 100 butterfly (1:00.69) and the 200 butterfly (2:14.75). Also earning a win was senior
Kelsey Reott (Butler, PA / Slippery Rock) in the 200 backstroke (2:19.35).
Westminster will host a double dual meet against SUNY Geneseo and Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m.
