Women's Basketball: Nationally-Ranked Thomas More Too Much for Titans

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Westminster College women's basketball team was no match for nationally-ranked Thomas More on Saturday, as the Titans lost 76-49 on the road in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game. Westminster falls to 7-12 on the season and 5-4 in the PAC, while Thomas More, which is ranked No. 16 in the NCAA Division III USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches' Poll, improves to 17-2 and 9-1 in the league.

Senior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) led the Titans in scoring for a third straight game by scoring in double figures for the 14th time this year with a game-high 14 points. Dolsak also led the Titans with three assists and three steals. The Titans' next highest scorer was junior point guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) bucketing six points.

Katie Tierney led the Saints with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists, followed by Samantha Van Atta with 11 points and Chelsea Tolliver with 10.

Thomas More shot well from the floor by converting 24 of 50 shots (48 percent) compared to the Titans who shot just 28.8 percent (17-59).

The Saints stormed out to a comfortable 15-point, 23-8 lead before leading by 13 (40-27) at halftime. Thomas More led by as many as 30 points in the second half when Tolliver knocked down a 3-pointer that gave the Saints a 65-35 advantage. The Saints sat on at least a 23-point lead the rest of the game.

Westminster hosts Waynesburg on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
