Rambo, Vadas claim PAC weekly honors

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) and freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) claimed Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors Tuesday afternoon.

Rambo was named the PAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Vadas was recognized as the PAC Newcomer of the Week. She was named PAC Field Athlete of the Week on March 17.

Rambo won the shot put with a season-best throw of 13.36 meters (42-10) at last Thursday's Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational, hosted by Allegheny. It's the top throw in the PAC this season, ranks No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic Region and is tied for No. 23 in Division III. She was also third in the discus (43.31m, 142-1.00) and seventh in the javelin (32.83m, 107-09).

Vadas was second in the discus with personal-best throw of 44.23 meters (145-01) at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational. It's the top throw in the PAC, ranks No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic Region and No. 22 in Division III.

Up next:
Westminster will compete at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships next Thursday and Friday, April 30–May 1, at West Virginia's Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. on Friday.
