Mila named PAC Newcomer of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster freshman Devin Mila (Davie, Fla., University School) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week Monday afternoon.

It is the first weekly award of Mila's career.

Mila hit .444 (8-18) with a double, three RBIs and five runs scored last week for 4-1 Westminster. A starter in center field in all five games, he finished the week with a .600 on-base percentage. Mila played a part in both wins Saturday against Allegheny, giving Westminster the lead in the seventh inning of the 6-5 game one victory with a run-scoring single before his walkoff base hit delivered a 1-0 win in the nightcap. He went 3-for-4 with two walks and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot in Sunday's 11-6 victory over No. 8 Mount Union. It was the first three-hit game of Mila's collegiate career.

Westminster is scheduled to travel to Gambier, Ohio on Wednesday to take on Kenyon. The first pitch of the single, nine-inning matchup is set for 4 p.m.
