Rambo, Treharne win at Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa.--Seniors Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) and Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School) both won individual events Friday night at Allegheny's Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational.

Rambo won the shot put with a season-best throw of 13.36 meters (42-10). She was also third in the discus (43.31m, 142-1.00) and seventh in the javelin (32.83m, 107-09). Treharne won the pole vault, clearing 3.55 meters (11-7.75).

Westminster had five individuals earn second-place finishes: senior Monica Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa., Harbor Creek) in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:13.68), senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.32), sophomore Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) in the pole vault (3.55m, 11-7.75), freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) in the 800 (2:19.61) and freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) in the discus with personal-best throw of 44.23 meters (145-01).

Junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished third in the 200 (26.06), junior Molly Gibson (Leetonia, Ohio, Leetonia) finished fourth in the discus (38.12m, 125-1.00), freshman Callie Reaugh (Blairsville, Pa., River Valley) finished seventh in the 5000 (20:45.60) and freshman Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa., Butler) was eighth in the pole vault (3.25m, 10-08).

Westminster's 4x100-meter relay was fourth with a time of 50.95. Relay members were Zendron, freshman Natalie Weiland (Mars, Pa., North Catholic), Essey and Puhala.

Up next:
Westminster will compete at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships next Thursday and Friday, April 30–May 1, at West Virginia's Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. on Friday.
