Three win at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa.--Junior Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) and freshmen Deonte Stallings (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown-Fitch) and Zach Kovell (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) each won individual events at Allegheny's Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational Friday night. 

Mull won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.86 seconds. He finished second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.07) and tied for seventh in the long jump (6.28m, 20-07.25). Stallings won the 110 hurdles with a finals time of 15.01. His preliminaries time of 14.97 was a personal best. Stallings also finished third in the 400 hurdles (58.30). Kovell won the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 47.97.

Freshman Nick Bender (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock) was second in the 5000 meters (16:49.81) while freshman Aaron Stebick (Butler, Pa., Butler) finished third in the 200 meters (22.43). Freshman Phil Silvis (Harmony, Pa., Seneca Valley) finished fifth in the 5000 (17:22.97) while junior Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) was seventh in the shot put with a season-best throw of 14.31 meters (46-11.50).

The Titans' 4x100-meter relay finished third with a time of 41.99. Members of the relay were freshmen Robert Maderitz (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) and Stebick, senior Ben White (Warren, Pa., Warren) and Kovell. 

Up next:
Westminster will compete at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships next Thursday and Friday, April 30–May 1, at West Virginia's Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. on Friday.
