Westminster women win 4x400 at Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.--Westminster's women's 4x400-meter relay ran to a first-place finish Thursday afternoon at Slippery Rock's John Papa Invitational.

The Titans finished with a winning time of 4 minutes, 09.32 seconds. Relay members were junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau), freshman Natalie Weiland (Mars, Pa., North Catholic), senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) and freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway).

Senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) finished fifth in the discus with a top throw of 43.53 meters (142-10). Freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) was eighth in the discus with a top mark of 42.25 meters (138-07) and 14th in the shot put (10.70m, 35-01.25). Junior Molly Gibson (Leetonia, Ohio, Leetonia) finished 10th in the discus (38.24m, 125-06).

Up next:
Westminster is scheduled to participate in the Penn State Behrend Invitational Saturday. Events will begin at 10:30 a.m.
