Westminster competes at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH--The Westminster women's outdoor track and field team wrapped up competition at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday. 

Sophomore Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) finished fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (5-01). 

The Titans had a pair finish in the top 10 of the discus: senior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) was sixth with a top throw of 42.88 meters (140-08) while freshman Meghan Vadas (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) was eighth (37.91m, 124-04). Junior Molly Gibson (Leetonia, Ohio, Leetonia) finished 14th (34.94m, 114-07).

Junior Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished 11th in the 200 meters (26.80) and 17th in the 100 meters (12.94). Freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) finished 16th in the 800 meters (2:24.26).

Senior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) was 20th in both the 100-meter hurdles (17.05) and 400-meter hurdles (1:12.12).

Westminster finished eighth in the 4x100-meter relay (53.01). The relay included Zendron, senior Abigail Painter (Ligonier, Pa., Ligonier Valley), Essey and Puhala. 

Up Next:
Westminster is scheduled to compete at the Dave Labor Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock, next Friday and Saturday at the William C. Lennox Track inside Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Friday's events will begin at 1:30 p.m. Events will get underway at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
