Dye wins high jump at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH--Westminster sophomore Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) won the high jump at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday afternoon at Gesling Stadium. 

Dye won the 22-competitor event with a top mark of 1.95 meters (6-04.75).

Junior Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) finished seventh in the discus (44.18m, 144-11). Senior Benjamin White (Warren, Pa., Warren) finished 11th in the 200 meters (23.43) and was 13th in the 100 meters (11.22). Freshman Ta'Rel Richardson-Heasley (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) was 14th in the triple jump (12.04m, 39-06). Freshman Jackson Friday (Bethel Park, Pa., Bethel Park) finished 15th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.71) and 19th in the 110-meter hurdles (17.89).

Graduate student Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) was 17th (1:00.79) in the 400 hurdles was junior Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) was 18th (1:01.34) and junior Isaiah Dale (Claysville, Pa., McGuffey) was 19th (1:03.17). Freshman Aaron Dickhart (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) finished 20th in the 400 meters (53.02).

Senior Mason Manos (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock) was 18th in the javelin (42.36m, 139-00). 

Westminster's 4x100-meter 'A' relay finished seventh (45.09) while its 'B' relay was ninth (45.52). The 'A' relay was made up up freshmen Aaron Stebick (Butler, Pa., Butler), Zach Kovell (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) and Robert Maderitz (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) and sophomore Brite Cannon (Parkland, Fla., Monarch). The 'B' relay included freshmen Imari Watson (Chambersburg, Pa., Chambersburg), and Nate Maher (Butler, Pa., North Catholic), White and Dickhart. 

Up Next:
Westminster is scheduled to compete at the Dave Labor Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock, next Friday and Saturday at the William C. Lennox Track inside Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Friday's events will begin at 1:30 p.m. Events will get underway at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
