Westminster falls to Grove City

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster men's lacrosse team suffered a 20-5 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to Grove City Wednesday evening at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Westminster fell to 5-5 overall and 0-2 in the PAC. Grove City improved to 3-7 overall and 2-0 in the PAC.

Freshman Brendan Robinson (Gainesville, Va., Gainesville) scored the game's first two goals. Even at 2-2 after a quarter, Grove City strung together four-straight goals to start the second before sophomore Paul DiPasquale's (Woodbine, Md., Glenelg) score with under a minute to go cut the deficit to 6-3. Mac Faircloth scored at the buzzer to give the Wolverines a 7-3 lead heading into the break.

Grove City outscored Westminster 6-1 in the third and 7-1 in the fourth.

Robinson finished with three goals. DiPasquale and sophomore Ethan Kurtz (Hummelstown, Pa., Lower Dauphin) each scored once.

Senior Jahiem Hawkins (Huntington Station, N.Y., Huntington) had a team-high six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sophomore Tanner Crosby (Park City, Utah, Park City) finished with two ground balls and one caused turnover.

Grove City out shot Westminster 49-22 and had a 29-13 advantage in shots on goal. Grove City went 22-of-23 on clears while Westminster went 23-of-35.
