Westminster falls in semifinal round of PAC Championship Tournament

GROVE CITY, Pa.--The Westminster men's lacrosse team suffered an 18-0 loss at top-seeded Grove City in the semifinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament Wednesday night at Robert E. Thorn Field. 

Westminster, the No. 4 seed in the championship tournament, wrapped up its season with a 12-7 record. The 12 wins are the most single-season victories in program history. 

Freshman Adam Teixeira (Sparta, N.J., Sparta) finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Seniors Jahiem Hawkins (Huntington Station, N.Y., Huntington) and Shawn Wooles (Hampton, N.H., Winnacunnet) had two ground balls and a caused turnover each. 

Senior Jorden Tate (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) made 13 saves and added three ground balls. 

Grove City finished with a 47-24 advantage in shots and had 31 shots on goal to Westminster's 15. The Wolverines will host No. 2 Chatham, 16-6 winners over No. 3 Saint Vincent in Wednesday's other semifinal, Saturday at 7 p.m. in the title game.
