Westminster scores walk-off win against Pitt-Greensburg

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Junior Braden Zeigler's (New Castle, Pa., Shenango) walk-off sacrifice fly completed Westminster's 3-2, 10-inning comeback win over visiting Pitt-Greensburg Friday afternoon.

Trailing 2-0 through seven-and-a-half innings, sophomore Jack Strausser (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) belted a two-out, two-run double to center to tie the game at 2-2.

Tied 2-2 heading into the 10th inning, sophomore right-hander Ty Carrier (New Bethlehem, Pa., Redbank Valley) worked a scoreless half-inning to give the Titans a chance. Junior Quinn Marquis (Hinckley, Ohio, Highland) led off the bottom of the inning with a walk before Strausser and sophomore Ian Temple (Harrison City, Pa., Penn-Trafford) drew consecutive hit by pitches to load the bases. Zeigler, with one out, lifted his sacrifice fly to left, scoring Marquis.

Carrier threw 2.0 scoreless relief innings to snag the win. He struck out two. Junior righty Tyson Djakovich (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) took a no-decision, giving up one hit and striking out six in 6.0 innings.

Junior Parker Lyons (Rochester, Pa., Rochester) went 2-for-5. Ziegler doubled in the second. Marquis scored a pair of runs.
