Titans finish with five event winners this weekend

WARREN, Ohio--Westminster's men's indoor track and field team had five individual event winners Friday and Saturday at the WGH PAC Tuneup, which was held inside the Warren City Schools Student Recreation and Wellness Center at Warren G. Harding High School. 

Friday at The Vault Shack in Volant, sophomore Reed Yost (Wattsburg, Pa., Seneca) won the pole vault after clearing a career-best 4.70 meters (15-05). It is the No. 1 mark in the Mid-Atlantic region and ranks No. 2 on the program's all-time list. 

Junior Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.41 seconds and finished in fourth place in the long jump (6.38m, 20-11.25). Sophomore Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) won the high jump, clearing 1.95 meters (6-04.75), and freshman Daniel Mukaabya (Bridgeville, Pa., Union) won the shot put with a top throw of 12.87 meters (42-02.75). Freshman Dillon Brunner (Pittsburgh, Pa., Upper Saint Clair) finished in first place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.26. 

Freshman Robert Maderitz (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) was second in the 60 meters (7.15) while senior Benjamin White (Warren, Pa., Warren) was second in the 200 meters (23.54) and junior Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) was second in the 400 meters (53.28). Freshman Ta'Rel Richardson-Heasley (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) finished second in the triple jump (12.94m, 42-05.50). It is the No. 4 mark on the league's performance list this season. 

Freshman Aaron Stebick (Butler, Pa., Butler) was third in the 60 (7.22) while classmate Aaron Dickhart (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) finished third in the 400 (53.55). Senior Bryce Carroll (Sharon, Pa., Sharon) placed third in the shot put (11.55m, 37-10.75). 

Dickert, senior Justin Redilla (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley), junior Isaiah Dale (Claysville, Pa., McGuffey) and freshman Jackson Friday (Bethel Park, Pa., Bethel Park) raced to a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter 'A' relay, finishing in 3:46.45. 

Up next:
Westminster will compete at the PAC Indoor Championships on Thursday, Feb. 26. The Titans finished fourth at the 16-event championship a year ago. Events are scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m. inside Youngstown State's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
