Westminster competes on Day 1 of PAC Championships

GROVE CITY, Pa.--The Westminster men's swimming and diving program is in fifth place following Wednesday's opening session of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships. 

The four-day event is being held at Grove City's James E. Longnecker Competition Pool. Grove City leads the seven-team championship field with 116 points. Saint Vincent is in second place with 96 points. Westminster has 58 points. 

The Titans opened the evening with a fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:42.23). Members of the relay included freshman Ethan Bishop (Meadow, Utah, Millard), sophomore Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian), junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) and freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf)

Katigbak, Webster, Galbraith and Bishop combined to finish fourth in the 800 freestyle relay (7:23.53). 

Up next:
Six events will be decided during Thursday evening's finals, which are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Preliminaries get underway at 10 a.m.
