Dye wins high jump at Youngstown State

Yost first in pole vault at Mount Union

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio--Sophomore Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) won the high jump at Youngstown State's Mid-Major Invitational, presented by Southwoods Health, while sophomore Reed Yost (Wattsburg, Pa., Seneca) won the pole vault at the Jim Wuske Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Mount Union, Saturday afternoon.

Dye cleared 1.94 meters (6-04.25) before winning a jumpoff with Akron's Jordan Thompson-Seay at 1.98 meters (6-06) to win the 14-competitor event. Yost cleared a personal-best 4.68 meters (15-04.25) to win the 11-jumper competition. He is tied for 24th-best jump in Division III this season. 

Also at Youngston State, junior Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) finished seventh in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 14.50 meters (47-07) while junior Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) was 16th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles (8.94). Junior Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) finished 17th in the shot put (13.02m, 42-08.75) while freshman Ta'Rel Richardson-Heasley (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) finished 18th in the triple jump (11.71, 38-05). Freshman Aaron Stebick (Butler, Pa., Butler) registered a pair of personal bests after finishing 23rd in the 400 (50.93) and 26th in the 200 (22.94). 

At Mount Union, senior Bryce Carroll (Sharon, Pa., Sharon) finished 11th in the weight throw (10.33m, 33-10.75) and 22nd in the shot put (10.89, 35-08.75) while freshman Daniel Mukaabya (Bridgeville, Pa., Union) was 17th in the shot put (12.34, 40-06).

Up next:
Westminster is scheduled to participate in Susquehanna's River Hawk Friday Night Showdown next week. Events will get underway at 3 p.m.
