Yost runner-up in pole vault at SPIRE's Midwest Invitational

GENEVA, Ohio--Sophomore Reed Yost (Wattsburg, Pa., Seneca) registered a runner-up finish in the pole vault Saturday at the Midwest Collegiate Invitational, hosted by SPIRE. 

Yost cleared a season-high 4.50 meters (14-09.00) in the 13-competitor event. It is the top mark in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this season. 

Junior Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.71) after qualifying fifth in the preliminaries (8.79). His time in the finals tops the PAC's performance list. Junior Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) was sixth in the weight throw (14.24m, 46-08.75) and ninth in the shot put (13.39m, 43-11.25). His throws Saturday both rank No. 2 on the league's performance list. Freshman Aaron Stebick (Butler, Pa., Butler) finished ninth in the 400 (50.82) and 17th in the 200 (23.11).

Senior Bryce Carroll (Sharon, Pa., Sharon) was 11th in the weight throw (11.24m, 36-10.50) and 18th in the shot put (11.48m, 37-08.00) while freshman Ta'Rel Richardson-Heasley (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) finished 11th in the triple jump (12.14m, 39-10.00). Junior Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) was 14th in the shot put (12.54, 41-01.75). Freshman Nick Bender (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock) finished 16th in the 5000 (16:30.33) and junior Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) was 20th in the 800 (2:01.65).

Westminster closed out the event with a fifth-place finish by its 'B' team in the 4x400-meter relay (3:34.91). Members of the relay included Stebick along with freshmen Jackson Friday (Bethel Park, Pa., Bethel Park), Dillon Brunner (Pittsburgh, Pa., Upper Saint Clair) and Aaron Dickhart (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell).

Up Next:
Westminster will compete in the two-day Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational next Friday and Saturday. Events will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
