Dye fifth at Akron in high jump

AKRON, Ohio--Sophomore Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) placed fifth in the high jump Friday at Akron's Seventh Annual Al Campbell Invitational, held inside the Stile Athletics Field House.

Dye cleared 1.90 meters (6-02.75). He was the event's top Division III finisher. 

Senior Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) finished 14th in the long jump with a top mark of 6.23 meters (20-05.25), the No. 7 jump in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this season, and was 19th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 seconds. It is the top time on the PAC's performance list this year. 

Freshmen Zach Kovell (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) and Aaron Stebick (Butler, Pa., Butler) were 14th and 18th, respectively, in the 400. Kovell posted a time of 50.37, currently the fourth-best time in the PAC this year, while Stebick finished in 51.07, the league's eighth-best time. Stebick also finished 19th in the 200 (22.96), the conference's 10th-best time. 

Junior Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) finished 20th in the shot put (12.73m, 41-09.25).

Freshman Nick Bender (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock) was 34th in the 3000 (9:34.36), the league's sixth-best time this season, and junior Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) was 36th in the mile (4:42.31), the No. 4 time in the conference.

Westminster's 4x400-meter 'B' relay finished in third place with a time of 3:32.13. It is the No. 2 time in the PAC. Relay members were junior Isaiah Dale (Claysville, Pa., McGuffey), Koehler, Mull and junior Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex).

Westminster will travel to Geneva, Ohio next Saturday to compete in the SPIRE Invitational.
