Westminster men compete at Susquehanna, Ashland

SELINSGROVE, Pa.--Members of the Westminster College men's indoor track and field program split to compete in a pair of Friday events, participating in Susquehanna University's River Hawk Friday Night Showdown and the opening day of Ashland University's Jud Logan Light Giver Open. 

At Susquehanna, sophomore Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) registered a fourth-place showing in the shot put with a top throw of 13.61 meters (44-08) and a seventh-place finish in the weight throw (11.48m, 37-08). Classmate Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) scored fifth-place finishes in the shot put and weight throw. He registered a career-best throw of 13.42 meters (44-00.50) in the shot put and a top mark of 12.75 meters (41-10) in the weight throw.

Also at Susquehanna, sophomore Kory White (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) tied for fourth place in the high jump with a best mark of 1.78 meters (5-08.50) while graduate student Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa., Karns City) secured a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.80 seconds and finished 10th in the 400 meters with a time of 54.65. Sophomore Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) was sixth in the long jump (6.19m,, 20-03.75) and eighth in the 400 meters (53.36) while freshman Aaron Hankerson (Reidsville, Ga., Robert Toombs Christian Academy) finished seventh in the 60 meters (7.20). 

Freshman Reed Yost (Wattsburg, Pa., Seneca) tied for fifth place in the pole vault at Ashland, clearing a personal-best 4.45 meters (14-07.25).

Up Next:
Westminster will return to action on Friday, Feb. 14 at Youngstown State University's Last Chance. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. inside the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
