Conley, Iwig post career bests at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio--Westminster College graduate student Maddie Conley (New Castle, Pa., New Castle) and freshman Grace Iwig (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) both recorded career bests in the women's pole vault Friday evening at the University of Mount Union Raider Tune-Up inside the Peterson Field House.

Conley cleared a personal-best 3.82 meters (12-06.25) Friday. Last May, she was recognized as an All-American with a seventh-place finish at the Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships after clearing a previous career-best 3.81 meters (12-06) on her first attempt at the height.  She also qualified for last year's indoor championships and earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish, clearing 3.77m (12-04.50).

Iwig turned in another terrific performance, clearing a career-best 3.72 meters (12-02.50). She cleared a previous career-best 3.62 meters (11-10.50) Feb. 14 at Youngstown State University's Last Chance.

Conley's performance Friday currently ranks No. 7 in Division III, while Iwig currently effort currently ranks 17th. 

Up Next:
Westminster will look to secure its second-straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) indoor title Thursday. Events are scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. inside Youngstown State's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
