Titans win 12 events in dual meet win over Chatham

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's swimming and diving team posted a 158-54 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet victory against Chatham Friday night. 

Westminster scored individual wins in 12 of the 13 contested events and both relays. 

Westminster opened with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay, registering a time of 1 minute, 44.28 seconds. Members of the relay were sophomore Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian), sophomore Avery Bumbach (Ocala, Fla., Forest), junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) and freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf).

Sophomore Ethan Schohn (Pittsburgh, Pa., Plum) won the 100 fly (58.47) and 200 fly (2:13.38) and finished second in the 200 back (2:19.61). Webster won the 100 breast (1:11.93) and 200 breast (2:444.81) and was second in the 1000 (12:04.75) while Katigbak won the 100 back (54.82) and 200 back (2:05.20) and finished second in the 50 free (22.94)

Bumbach won the 100 free (50.76), 200 free (1:52.46) and 400 IM (4:37.58). Freshman Ethan Bishop (Meadow, Utah, Millard) won the 1000 (11:14.84) and 500 (5:25.53) and finished third in the 400 IM (4:58.80). Graduate student Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) was first on the 1-meter board with a score of 297.25 points. He finished second in the 100 breast (1:16.99). Galbraith was second in the 200 free (2:01.63) and third in the 100 free (53.34). 

Westminster closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay (1:38.97). Relay members were Galbraith, Piraino, Bishop and Schohn. 

Up next:
Westminster will host Hiram next Saturday. The conference dual is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
