Westminster downed by Wooster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's swimming and diving team lost to visiting Wooster 191-54 Saturday afternoon.

Westminster fell to 2-4 overall in dual meet action while Wooster improved to 4-0.

Sophomore Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian) won the 100 back in 54.51 seconds and 200 back (2:03.25) and was second in the 50 free (22.64).

Junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) was second in the 200 fly (2:30.73) and third in the 500 free (5:35.51). Freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf) finished third in the 100 free (53.27) and sophomore Ethan Schohn (Pittsburgh, Pa., Plum) was third in the 100 fly (57.97). Graduate student Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional) was the lone diver in the dual meet, finishing with 312.20 points on the 1-meter board. 

Westminster concluded the meet with a third-place finish in the 400 free relay (3:48.34). Members of the relay included Galbraith, Piraino, Webster and Schohn. 

Up next:
Westminster will compete in the three-day Wooster Invitational Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 4-6. Swimming will take place at the Chris Matthew Aquatics Center and diving will be held at Timken Natatorium. Preliminaries begun at 10 a.m. all three days.
