Bumbach, Katigbak each win three events at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa.--Sophomores Avery Bumbach (Ocala, Fla., Forest) and Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio, Lake Center Christian) each won three events in Westminster College's 149-50 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet victory at Allegheny Saturday afternoon inside the Mellon Pool. 

Westminster improved its record to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the PAC. 

Westminster won the 200 medley relay to open the meet with a time of 1 minute, 52.58 seconds. Members of the relay included freshman Ethan Bishop (Meadow, Utah, Millard), graduate student Gino Piraino (Export, Pa., Franklin Regional), junior Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) and freshman Joseph Galbraith (Waterford, Pa., Fort Le Boeuf)

Bumbach won the 1000 (10:52.88), the 200 fly (2:10.95) and the 200 IM (2:08.85). Katigbak was first in the 100 breast (1:05.49), the 50 free (23.48) and the 200 back (2:06.52).

Bishop won the 200 free (1:56.89) and the 500 (5:27.77) and finished third in the 100 free (54.30). Sophomore Ethan Schohn (Pittsburgh, Pa., Plum) won the 100 back (1:00.34) and finished second in both the 200 back (2:17.48) and 100 fly (58.16). Webster won the 200 breast (2:43.59) and was third in both the 100 fly (1:02.80) and 200 IM (2:23.59). Galbraith was second in both the 100 free (52.78) and 200 free (2:01.03). 

Piraino was the lone competitor on the 1-meter board, totaling 203.48 points. He also registered a third-place finish in the 50 free (27.16).

The Titans won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:33.70 to conclude the meet. Relay members included Schohn, Galbraith, Bumbach and Katigbak.

Up Next:
Westminster will host Chatham next Friday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
