Westminster competes at SPIRE's Midwest Open

GENEVA, Ohio--The Westminster College men's indoor track and field program competed at the SPIRE Midwest Open Saturday. 

Sophomore Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) finished ninth in the shot put with a top throw of 14.10 meters (46-03.75) and 30th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.22 meters (40-01.25). Junior Jalen Ritzert (Greenville, Pa., Greenville) finished 11th in the Intermediate section of the pole vault, clearing 3.80 meters (12-05.50), while finishing 27th in the high jump (1.70m, 5-07).

Freshman Reed Yost (Wattsburg, Pa., Seneca) was 12th in the Elite section of the pole vault after he cleared 4.25 meters (13-11.725). Sophomore Kory White (Youngstown, Ohio, Austintown Fitch) finished 17th in the high jump (1.75m, 5-08.75) while sophomore Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) was 20th in the shot put (13.06m, 42-10.50) and 41st in the weight throw (11.37m, 37-03.75).

Westminster was fifth in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) with a time of 11:07.13. Members of the relay included sophomore Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding), graduate student Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa., Karns City), sophomore Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) and senior Dane Fasick (New Brighton, Pa., New Brighton)

Westminster is scheduled to participate in Youngstown State University's Mid-Major Invitational, presented by Southwoods Health, next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
