Titans participate in qualifiers at Allegheny, Baldwin Wallace

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's outdoor track and field program participated in a pair of late-season qualifiers Thursday and Friday. 

Select members competed at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College, on Thursday and Baldwin Wallace University's Harrison Dilliard Twilight Meet on Friday. 

Thursday at Allegheny, freshman Kyle Crown (Lake Milton, Ohio, McDonald) registered a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a top mark of 13.80 meters (45-03.50) on his second attempt. Friday at Baldwin Wallace he was 14th in the event with a best throw of 14.29 meters (46-10.75). Classmate Jack Crider (Apollo, Pa., Kiski) was eighth in the discus at Allegheny with a top throw of 41.33 meters (135-07) on his first attempt. 

At Baldwin Wallace, senior Anthony Kamenski (Chicora, Pa., Karns City) finished 14th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.55 seconds.

Westminster's 4x100-meter relay was seventh at Baldwin Wallace with a time of 42.96. Members of the relay included Kamenski, freshmen Matthew Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) and Jake Mull (Apollo, Pa., Apollo-Ridge) and graduate student Ryan Beard (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional)

Westminster is scheduled to compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships Wednesday-Thursday, May 15-16 at the State University of New York at Cortland. Events are scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m. Wednesday at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex.
